Default Codes 71-73 and ABS light

I took of my header, reinstalled it, all was well, I turned it on and threw codes 71-74. Cleared the ECU, reved it up again, and threw codes 71-73, no more 74, and not the ABS light is blinking code 16. I think when I sprayed off the engine bay to wash off the coolant, water may have gotten somewhere it didnt need to be. What happened? And what can I do?

Default Re: Codes 71-73 and ABS light (tegunderpressure)

Damn.....I had the same problem w/ my car when I rebuilt my motor and finally got it started. I keep throwing codes 71-74 (mis-firing) but every now and then it drops to just 71-72. I have yet to find out why. Have you checked your EGR? That can cause mis-firing. I check mine and it was fine, now I am going through my whole fuel system cuz that could be a reason as well. Might want to also check your distributor and plug wires.

As for the ABS light. I dont what car you have but I have searched and they said that preludes were well known for their ABS lights to come on. A couple of posts I read said that they just to "tap" the ABS unit lightly and it went away. I know that is not a good reason for you, but I did that and my light went off and has not come back on since. But again, this obviously doesnt solve the problem correctly but it worked for me.
