Default Code 67, can anybody help?

Hey whats up guys, i need some help trying to find out what exactly wrong with my car. Its throwing out a code 67 which is a catalyst system functioning below threshold. So i think it might be a bad cat, or a bad 02 sensor. Ive talked to a couple of muffler shops and told them that it all started when i degreased my engine and might have gotten a sensor wet or something. One guy told me that nothing might be wrong with my car and all that it probably needs is for the computer to be reset with a diagnostic tool. My car runs great but if i reset the computer myself by taking the negative battery cable off i feel it runnig a little better. My question is has anybody had this happen to them before or had this code before? My car is a 98 civic ex coupe auto by the way. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
