Im getting code 45 which is "system running to lean or to rich". i have a 98 cx and after I put the EX intake manifold and AEM cold air intake I got the code. I tried to bolt on a 96 prelude si fuel regulator but it doesnt fit. Some people keep telling me to just get a FPR like B&M or AEM or something like that. So my question is will this clear my code?

what kind of info are you looking for, from what i know code 45 means your car is running lean or to rich. when did you start to throw the code
I started geting it once i put in my venom injectors and aem cai. is there a set fuel preshure that i can set my fpr to so as to eliminate the code? i've tried playing around with fuel preshure with no luck.

what size injectors are they? so your car is runnign to rich. hmm..... i might be wrong but you might have to get a SAFC or a VAFC whichever one you want. the FPR can only do a little but both a AFC and a FPR can work really well together, atleast that is what im told. also what kind of motor do you have and what kind of mods do you have, for all i know you could be running lean. let me know asap, i will do my best to help you out.

the safc is about 300 and the vafc is about 325, just get a VAFC that way if you ever go VTEC you already have it, that way you save 325 in the long run. does your car put out black smoke alot? i think your going to have to get some type of AFC and lean your car out a little, im guessing your car is OBD2 also. i hate OBD2 after owning a OBD1 car and a OBD2 car i will never again go with OBD2.

This code is set when the Long Term Fuel Trim is at its max or min, which is +/- 20%. This LTFT value is changed from feedback from your O2. If the O2 constantly shows a rich condition, the ECU begins to trim back fuel, allowing the LTFT to start heading negative. If the ECU still sees that the O2 is rich...it keeps on repeating this cycle.
Now, that does not mean your O2 is bad....like I said, its what your O2 is reporting to the ECU.
Will the VAFC cure your problem...I'm not gonna say it will, cuz I don't know. However, I do know that until you bring your fuel mixture into a range that the ECU can work with...you will get this code.
