Code 4 when cold
the past few days my car has been throwing code 4 CKP - crank position sensor in weather anything lower than 5 degrees fahrenheit. i'm running a b20 in a crx. anyone have an idea why crank position sensor code happens only in cold weather? a friend who is a GM mechanic says i have a faulty crank position sensor and that i needed to replace it with a new sensor located on the block near the crank ... but from search on the code it had something to do with the dizzy. i have a brand new dizzy not even 1 month old. any ideas?
I had problems with CEL's since it's been cold too. But mine was cylinder 1 misfire, and cylinder 4 misfire, but the car ran fine.
Maybe it just has something to do with everything being so f'ing cold.

car starts fine though but with the code 4 i can't rev past 3000 and when i try driving it it seems like the car has no power at all. takes a while to get to 3000 rpm. any more input on this problem?

My zc is doin about the same thing... What ecu do you guys use? I have an SI and an LS ecu... But when i plug the SI in the car will start and get to 4,000 rpm... But it won't go anywhere. But when i just turn the key the ecu flips 10 then 20 when i turn it on it flip 9 10 14... I'm not sure what the deal is and it's hard to figure out what's goin on... Seattle doesn't have many zc mechanics...
