I am just buttoning up a B18 swap into my buddies 00 dx coupe and i only have 1 more code thats coming up. Its a code 4 (4 short flashes) which is for the CKP sensor located on the dizzy. I swapped dizzy's with another one and it still threw the code so im guessing it must either be a loose connection at the conversion harness (obd2b to obd1) or one of the wires i soldered together is loose (had to convert from 8 wire to 9 wire dizzy plug). The weird thing is the car will struggle really badly to start but once it starts it seems like it is running fine, any ideas why this is? Would the CKP cause it to start very slow but wouldnt affect it enough to make it idle weird?
youre probably runnig off in limp mode when the car runs fine Its when the ecu knows somethings wrong, try reving the car over 3000rpm..if it has revlimiter around there you are trapped in the limp ;-)
did you just swap the engine without swapping the wiring harness, if so thats okay but remember youll have to revire the distributor or re pin it...
Try to get some wiringcharts, draw the ckp sensor color codes on a paper from obd1-2 and figure who goes to who.

yes I just swapped the engine as you cant use an integra harness in a civic engine bay (96-00 atleast). I did re-do the dizzy because the car is a 00 and i switched it from an 8 wire to a 9 wire dizzy plug (rpm taken from the dizzy). I am pretty confident my connections are all good and all the colors matched up so there shouldnt be an issue.

i just started switching wires, you prolly have two swapped or your need to swap two

then your car has a obd2b 99+ harness, while your engine is a obd2a 96-99
-Do some research get wiring diagrams and start errorsearch.
-no one but you can know what have been done to the wiringharness..

yes the car is a 00 and the Dizzy wiring has been switched to an OBD2a 9-wire plug, i will double check the wires wit the digram above and I hope that its just something simple like a crossed wire.
