code 14 IACV... correct voltage to sensor???
Car threw a code 14 yesterday (00 gsr in a 99 ex). Went through the diagnosis steps: rpm drops when plug removed
, valve clicks when current is applied
, but when I checked the voltage on the plug (ignition turned on) the + side read 12.5 and the negative side read 10.3
. Now, call me crazy, but isn't ground supposed to be 0 volts?? Is that the problem, or is it normal. Anything else to check??

You should have battery voltage when compared to ground on the + feed, which you do. The other leg goes to the ECU and could show some voltage referenced to ground. I'd have to pull mine and measure it, but it's too damn cold out right now. If your IACV clicks and drops the idle when unplugged, it's working OK. I'd suggest you pull the backup or hazzard fuse for ten seconds to clear the code and see if it pops up again. If it does, you might have an intermittent connection somewhere, because it would seem the IACV itself is working.
