Clutch Squeak?
Alright here is the deal, I have a 99 ex coupe with 61k miles and when I press and release the clutch it makes a squeak noise. At first I thought it was the pedal but it is not, it's something internal. Any ideas? Is my clutch going to take a **** on me soon?
Most of the time, the release fork that the slave cylinder presses in needs some lubrication. It pivots on a "ball" inside the clutch housing, and will squeak if it becomes dry. Remove the boot, and spray some WD40 on the backside of the fork. See if the noise goes away...if not, may need a clutch.
Mine does that in the morning when it's cold, but as soon as it warms up the squeak stops (movement of the pedal). I just assume it's the pedal spring or something.
Then again, my clutch has 140,000 miles on it.
