clutch slip?
I have a 92 si with a 14b turbo at 10psi. I installed an xtd stage 2 clutch and lightened flywheel and have put 70 miles on it so far. I was testing it out and when I hit boost in 2nd-5th gear the clutch slipped immediately, but when I was in 1st gear it was fine. This thing is making me angry and I don't know if I have to break it in the full 500miles for it to work right, or what. Also I have to let the clutch pedal out all the way before it grabs, and with the original one it grabbed right at the floor.
Who installed the clutch? Was the pressure plate surface cleaned beore installation? If the clutch is grabbing at the top of the pedal you most likely need to bleed the clutch more but that has nothing to do with it slipping. Some people swear by breaking a clutch in but i personally think thats a bunch of bullshit. Make sure you dont have any leaks that could be getting inside the bellhousing onto the clutch
I installed the clutch, and have installed many of them. I put the old one in before this one and it worked great, it was a luk from autozone and was the best $80 I ever spent. The clutch was installed properly and all surfaces were properly cleaned before installation. It is just weird that the pedal has to go out so far to grab, is this because of the lightweight flywheel?
