Default clutch problem, help please!

i'm posting this for my bf, since his internet is not working. i did a search too, but i didn't really find anything that seemed like the same problem he's having.
here's the thing: at first his clutch was having problems engaging when he was trying to shift gears sometimes, so he asked his mechanic friend and he told him to bleed the clutch... he bled the clutch, and it was still the same... asked his friend again, and dude said it was probably the slave master cylinder.... so he changed that too... after he changed that, bled the system again to get the air out, and started the car... lo and behold, the car would shift gears at all, but when the car is turned off, it will shift gears easily... thought maybe he installed the thing wrong so took back out and reinstalled it... still didn't work

so now he's thinking its his master cylinder, but that's not leaking at all, and some other people said that it might be his clutch, but his clutch is relatively new. Its an ACT HD00 installed about 9 months ago, and he doesn't rape it or anything, so could it have gone out on him that fast? what could it be? someone help please! thanks...

If bleeding the system helped I would say it is the Master Cylinder.

Change it out. They have seals inside that could go bad.
