Default Clutch install

Hey there. Doing a B18C1 swap into my Civic this weekend. I bought a Clutchmasters flywheel and ACT clutch. I just took the parts out and lined everything up for the fun of it. I noticed that when I put the clutch disc on the flywheel then the pressure plate on top of it, everything lines up, but there are these gaps between where the PP bolts down to the flywheel. Is this normal or should the PP be touching the flywheel? I can't really force it down anymore either. The bolts only require 19 ft/lbs of torque. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but don't wanna mess anything up when I actually take everything apart. Thanks.

yeah thats what the allignment tool does (kinda) when you line it up and the pressure plate with the disk and tighten it it will all work perfect.

So with just 19 ft/lbs of torque like the manual says, its going to close that gap?

Your good to go.

That space is there to put load on the diaphram when you bolt down the 9 bolts. 19lbs is plenty. Torque specs correspond to bolt size. Any more torque and you are liable to break a bolt.

Also when you bolt in your pressure plate the fingers of the diaphram will flatten out from the cone shape it has now.

Make sure you wipe down the flywheel and pressure plate mating surfaces with brake cleaner even though you don't see any oil. Most iron/steel parts have oil based rust inhibitors on them.

If it still doesn't look right, make sure the clutch disc is in the right way. Flip it and see if it helps.
