Default Clicking in transmission

What could be wrong with a s21 hydro tanny that it would click at higher speeds (30MPH +) but not at slower speeds? The only thing I came up with was the differential isnt shimmed correctly or it is worn out. Any other ideas?

I had a VSS that was bad do this. It was bingding up, but I believe it di it at very low speeds.

next time you drive it. listen for a click or metal to metal sound when you turn. usually it's your diff.
