hey, there's quite a loud ticking sound coming from the intake side of my sohc vtec head. it all started when i blew my head gasket and the car started to overheat a little, but i'm all about making sure it's broken before i dump some more money into it.
i changed the head gasket and it still made that noise, so then i took the head off and dissassembled it 100%, valves and all. i checked the lost motion assemblies, and they all appear to be good with equal spring in all of them. i put the head back together and it still clicks. one thing i haven't checked yet though, and didn't check when re-assembling the head is if all the rocker clearances are within spec. i'm not talking about the rocker/valve clearance, but the rocker/rocker clearance on the rocker assembly. how tight or loose should they be? any tips for reassembling the head properly? thanks!!!

also...any other ideas on what could be making that noise would be most appreciated.
