Default Cleaning my bbs rs's

Ok guys I need some advice. I built a nice set of rs's last year and the lips were hand polished and looked great. The car pretty much sits and sat all winter. I washed them today and the aluminum lips look like ****. They are not clear coated. Any suggestions on what to clean them with. I really dont want to wetsand the lips again. I need some sort of abrasive polish but I have gold plated bolts so it cant be too abrasive. They almost look salt damaged but the car wasnt driven in the winter so that's not what the problem is.
