Default chrome engine parts

I am wanting to buy some chrome engine parts for my honda but I haven't because some one told me that the heat from the motor would peel the chrome off. Is this true or not? Or would I be better off just getting stainless steel? I do drive my car daily so that is why I am wanting to know about his. The parts that I am talking about are exhaust headers and valve covers

I think the change in color looks cool but if you don't want the color go with ceramic! Chrome peels off when it had been applied to an old serface.... If applied to a new product it wont....
