Did you see any blue smoke or smell burning plastic? You could have had a short and fried the chip?????

i didnt smell anything burning at all, or see any smoke, my symptoms are, my car has always revved up to 9000 rpms, and now all of a sudden it feels like it has lost power through certain rpms and the rev limiter is kicking in at 8000 rpms. The car seems to be running fine mechanical wise, but loss of power and rev limiter has changed all of a sudden.
