Default Checking for Fuel - Is my engine getting fuel ?

Alright, ive got my new (expensive) ICM replaced and when i start it up, my engine runs fine for a split seconds, then it dies off after maybe 1-2 seconds. i tried starting it again and thinking maybe i just needed to give it a slight amount of gas, so i applied maybe 1/8 throttle (i dont have a tach) and it died IMMEDIATELY.

so im pretty sure my engine is not getting fuel, or at least enough fuel. i know my fuel pump is good because i just replaced it with a walbro255. how the hell am i not getting fuel then? what could be the cause of this and how can i test to see if the engine's getting proper amounts of fuel?

i thought replacing the burnt out ICM would be the end of my problems, but it feels like its just the beginning. oh and ive been waiting since june for my axles from stan at fast-turbo

oh yeah, the car im having the problems with is the EK22

You got to get your hands on a fuel pressure gauge to check it right.

Pull the banjo bolt that connects the fuel line to the fuel rail. Turn the car to the "on" position and see if it squirts out fuel. It should, this is the fuel pump priming. Then try turning over the car and see if it spews gas.

If you're getting gas there, then check the injectors by pulling them and seeing if they spray fuel when turning the motor over.

I've done it MANY times before, and had no problems. My mechanic buddy that has been wrenching for 10 years has always used this method and had no trouble with it in that time.

It's a proven method of quickly testing it out if you don't have a gauge on hand. It's not like there's any open electrical connections or open flames in an engine bay...

EK22snatch doesn't sound like he's clueless either. But eventually some newb is gonna read this thread & blow himself up.

But not only that, spraying fuel out into a jar doesn't tell you whether the pressure is correct.

thanks for the help guys, i got really frustrated today on my one day off from work and decided to totally redo my wiring and see if that helps. tested it a sec ago and it fired up and idles. its running open header right now so its tough to tell, but the exhaust sound kinda funny under acceleration. it like sputters every .5 sec or so at about 1.5krpms. i'm working it out now though (i think). teh, sadly enough, i planned for this car to be running by college, but thats not going to happen now

thanks again for the help guys!!!
