A buddy of mine just threw a rod on a y8. This is the aftermath. Pretty interesting.

This was the first clue that something was wrong.





Once i got it stripped down i noticed there was something missing.







And the problem...



I couldn't find the other peice of the rod cap anywhere, nor the stud. The threads on the stud that is pictured, are stripped off completley. The oil pick-up was totally clogged with metal shrapnel.

 

Holy hell, that's some sick damage there, that's wallpaper worthy IMO.

 

Man those rods are pencil-thin.

Hah holy hell. I'm thinking if there isn't already one in existance there should be a "Blown Motor/Wrecked Car Damage" thread. Probably in appearence cosmetic though.
