If you didn`t notice any performance decreases then whatever threw the code did not cause your system to go in limp mode (safe mode)... It probably isn`t something major... hopefully not anyway. Jump the service connector to get the code to at least get peace of mind.

sorry guys i'm new at this but i gave it a try, but the part i don't get in the instructions says 4) WITH THE CAR OFF, insert either a 2pin connector clip, bent paper clip (has to be the right kind), or if you have a thin enough piece of wire, you can loop that into both holes on the connector.

i don't know what kind of clip and what it has to be touching or going through can anyone help??? thanks alot

Did you find that blue connector? All you need is a normal paperclip bent into a "U" shape. Don't use the heavy-gauge big ones, they're too fat to fit in there. All you need to do is make an electrical connection between the 2 wires in that plug.

If you don't wanna do that, go to AutoZone & let them plug in an OBD-2 code reader. They'll get a code (letter P with 4 digits) which is a little more detailed than that list in the link. Get the code number & come back here - sometimes their explanation of what's wrong is kinda creative.

Default Inexpensive OBDII Code Reader

Hi guys. Go to http://www.diydiagnostics.com I have a very good but inexpensive scan tool available for sale. Price is $54.99 plus about 4 bucks for shipping. Anyone who mentions this forum in their order will receive a $7 discount! Check it out. The tool works great. It gives you more control over viewing/clearing codes than most models. Plus, it has a nice length cord so that you don't have to spend time with your head underneath your dashboard. Works on 1996 and newer GM, Ford, Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, and some others. No computer required. This is a self contained unit. It also comes with a handy code booklet to tell you what the codes mean.
