Default Cheap and easy power.

ive got the usual i/h/e, a modified cat, suspension, and im planning on getting a jrsc soon. i dont really know what to get for my car now. what some cheap and easy to swap in or install things to get just a little more kick out of my b18b. im not looking for a turbo, nitrous, or higher boost pulleys.

Try N2o.....JRSC don't suck...you just dont have a cool intake charge...if you did a JRSC and sprayed a small shot then the problem would be solved....Who cares how you make the power as long as it's there....

Get some cams and get it tuned. Otherwise I'd say nitrous.

None of those things you listed will make power.

I would say a set of cams, but you said "cheap power", if there is such a thing.

Because at this point he has nothing left to do besides get the JRSC.

Cams are a BAD idea for FI, because NA cam design and FI cam design are not the same and you want different things.

Aftermarket cams are going to increase overlap, which is exactly the opposit of what he wants for a JRSC application. What happens when you have more overlap? More boost goes straight in from the intake valves straight out through the open exhaust valves.

All of the things I listed will increase acceleration, the same goal is acheived just by different methods.

About the cam issue...If I'm correct, Comp cams don't have much overlap, and have hella lift...I have the 57200's in my B16. They are great all motor and better on N2o....I don't know how they will work on Boost....But I'd like to know...

N2O and Boost want the same thing from cams, the more overlap you have the more N2O that is going to be shot straight into the exhaust ports.

N2O is a form of boost. It does the same thing as any other form of FI just by different means.

If you look at cam manufactures specs, the more aggressive the cams get (designed for NA) you will notice not only is lift increased but duration (and thus overlap) is as well. If you look at crowers website, you will notice each stage bumps up the duration and lift together. While the turbo forumulated cams tend to have close to stock duration.

already got the wheels and tires. its a daily driver and i usually haul 1 or 2 people most days so weight reduction isnt all that practical. the types of things i was thinking about were like different plugs and wiring; kinda like engine dress up that actually serves a purpose is what im looking for.

If your really wanting to make power....Small stuff like that isn't gonna get you there....Might make the car run better but not much faster...

i like the motor mount idea......puts down quicker stronger power without that flex.....helps ur launch. may not technically make more power, but it does add speed. why u gotta rip on the guy?

try a ground strap set. it's not really all that cheap though but a lot of people i have talked to say that they can tell a difference in throttle response. :shrugs: just a thought.

I wasn't ripping on him, i was just saying those things don't make power, because that is what the topic says

No doubt motor mounts, tires and weight reduction will help his car go faster, those are definitely good ideas.

both of you need to grow the **** up.

my answer would be that there is no really reliable CHEAP way to go...there just isn't. you want real power, you have to pay for it, it sucks I know, but thats how it is.
