Charging System Problems?????
My car has been having some electrical issues. When I jump start the car mostly every morning it starts right up and the voltage on my volt gauge reads close to 14. But as soon as i turn on my heater and my music on the voltage drops to below 10 and if i even think about having my fogs or headlights on it drops to below 9 volts. Also as soon as i push the brake pedal the voltage drops further and the car almost sounds like its going to die out. I thought it might be either my battery or alternator so i took it to midas for a starting and charging system check. they told me everything was good. So i was wondering if it is my ground that could be the issue. And another thing is that I have a optima red top and it is mounted in the trunk so i don't know how you are supposed to have a ground to the tranny if my battery is in the trunk. Also the next day when i try to start the car it won't start unless i jump start it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
take it to another place. Sounds like the battery is toast. check for something draining the battery over night. Light a light staying on or something.

Ya like he said... have someone else check it. But my $1 is on the alternator if its one or the other. Genreally The car should continue running even without the battery in after its started with little to no voltage drop. and jump starting it is telling me that the alternator isnt charging it when its running. If it was just the jump start deal Id say battery but the rest says alternator. If it isn't either of the 2 then im not sure what to check. This is only advice assuming its one or the other.
