Default charcoal condainer really needed???

is it safe to remove the charcoal container? im trying to save waight make the engne bay cleaner or car faster. also what do I do with the lines if I remove it. this is on a turbo 99 Ls obd1.

you can have bar-b-ques in your engine bay?niiice,i wouldnt get rid of that

You don't really have to have one. Just plug off the vacuum line going to it.

i THINK it is for emissions, if you dont need to pass them, you dont need the canister.. someone confirm
