changing my brakes question???
hey guys once before i changed the brakes on a friends maxima and while i was compressing the piston the pressure blew fluid out where the brake likes seat under the resivoir, theres usually like 2 posts below the res.. well i blew one out... i teflon tapped it back in and it seated fine, but what can i do to prevent this, would it be a bad idea to jus take the lid off the resivior? or will that put air in the system
on my mustang i always just compressed the pistons and went on, but i dont want anything to happen to the car im working on so
what should i do, its a normal brake change

Take off the brake fluid reservoir cap. Compress the pistons slowly & watch the fluid. You may have to suck some out so it doesn't overflow. The cap has a very small vent, you can't hardly push fluid out thru that.
Probably your mustang had a bigger vent? Or maybe the fluid wasn't so high & it never overfilled?
If your pressure lines leaked, teflon tape isn't the way to fix it...
