Default Changing Condensor

I have to change my condensor on a Hyundai xg350, the old ones been out of commision for 2 years now…

Do I need a shop to evacuate the system now or could i change the condesor then get it done? I would assume it needs to be beforehand since I need to put new oil in the new condesor before install..

I know Im late here, but others may find this useful. Push on the Schrader valve and make sure there is no refrigerant. If the system is empty, slowly crack a line open to let out any surprise pressure, the proceed as normal and take it to a shop when done.
