CEL and Fuel pump question
PLEASE READ DOWN POST!
I just swapped my b20v out of a delsol and put it in a 99 hatch when it was pulled from sol there was no cel's and now there is. The car starts and idles fine but there is a cel when I got to flash it the light just stays solid, it wont flash the code. The jumper harness was a little hacked up but I was able to put it back together without and issue. Does anyone have an idea?
Also the person that I bought the hatch from wired the fuel pump to the ignition on a kill switch. When I checked for pressure the pump doesn't shut off it just runs until the switch or ignition is turned off. Does anyone have a detailed diagram so that I can wire this back to stock??? Don't know if this also is what is causing the CEL...
THANKS

I assume we are talking about a 99 Civic hatchback???
Find the PGM-FI Main Relay, should be to the left of under dash fuse box just above hood release, the fuel pump power lead was most likely cut there, and rewired from that point, should be a yellow/green lead [or you can fallow the wire from the switch] then reconnect the fuel pump power lead to the PGM-FI Main Relay.
Before you make the reconnection, test the output of the fuel pump relay, [one of two relays in the PGM-FI Main Relay] I can't of a reason for rewiring the fuel pump power unless there is a problem with the PGM-FI Main Relay.
A 12V test light is all you need, place probe into the PGM-FI Main Relay plug that has the fuel pump power lead terminal, [again, it's most likely a yellow/green lead]. turn the ign. on, the test light should light up for a few sec., [priming fuel system] the test light should go out at the same time as the CEL, start the car, test light should light up again and stay on, if so, the PGM-FI Main Relay is working "properly", [there may still be an intermittent problem], if on the other hand the PGM-FI Main Relay is not working, you will have to fix that problem before you reconnect the fuel pump power lead to the PGM-FI Main Relay. 94

Ok I got the fuel pump fixed. Now for the check engine light... When I jump the plug to flash the code the light just goes off and stays off but when I take the jumper lead out the lights back on. Any Ideas?
A CEL that is on would indicate a problem with the engines emissions system, first thing I would check is the gas cap, make sure it seals properly.
Could also be a problem with the ECU/ECM. 94
