Caulking a VAFC

Caulking a VAFC
Hey I just got a VAFC2 and I really don't want to pay someone like $150 to install it. I'm looking over the diagrams and everything and it seems pretty straight forward with just a wire stripper, wire cutter, and whatever I need for "caulking".
I've looked around online and I don't understand how exactly I'm supposed to caulk the braces onto the wires? The braces are extremely small and the instructions say to caulk it inward to dig into the wires. All I find about caulking is a caulking gun, which pretty much just pushes from what i can tell. I can't figure out how I'm supposed to bend the brace inward like it says to without a tool specially made to do it. Any help or information would be nice, thanks.
