Default Car would not start

This morning my car started then died out. I thought nothing off it cause sometimes it does it. Well today after coming out of the court house I goto start my car. I get a check engine light, which I checked it and the light was just on. So I turn off the car and try to restart it. And I get nothing, it did not even try to start. My radio came on, and everything else worked. My Dad had tocome and jump my car. So what could it be ? It is really cold out over here, could it just be that ? My battery is a autozone brand and its pretty new. I am going to try to start my car up in alittle while and see what happens. It sounds like either the alternator or battery.

Does the engine turnover or just click? If it just clicks check the alternator cause the battery might not be getting charged.

It don't do anything, it don't even try to turn over . What could it be ? I had my battery tested and its good. So if its the alternator would'nt the car atleast try to turn over ?

Anyone else, I don't want to fork out 140 for an alternator I don't need.

When stupid little problems show up it's usually because of stupid little things.. It sounds to me like the Starter isn't getting enough Amperage.. And you did say that when you turn they key you get nothing.. If so, I'd check the cables at the Battery posts.. Sometimes dirty connections can cause the cable to not let enough amperage through.. After checking and cleaning those, I'd also check the cables at the Starter, the Alternator Ground Cable, and the Engine Block Ground cable.. Just see if they're clean.. Grab them and pull on them a little bit.. Hope that helps.. Good Luck finding the problem..

Sounds to me like you're in an Automotive Engines/Electronics class this semester. I sounded like you when I was in that class.

That's right.. You learn so much more when the teacher is a Domestic Fan and has been racing since he was 9.... Everything works the same way.

But what sucks is that we're not allowed to work on Hondas.. Because the teacher says that they don't break down.. HAHA..
