my car was sitting outside for 3 days with the gas at empty. went to the gas station and got 1 gallon and pour it now won't start. (didn't drive the car to the gas station) just bought a new battery a month ago. i can hear the fuel pump humming and check the fuel filter and fuel there was fuel. anyone know what might be wrong??

You say you can hear the fuel pump prime the fuel system when ign. switch is turned on, is that correct?

Does the engine turn over, [crank] and just not fire up, [start], or does the engine not even turn over?

Have you pulled a spark plug to see/smell if there is gas on it?
Have you checked to see if you have spark? 94

 

99 honda civic. I got car to turn over today for 5 minutes then dies. Just put in some new spark plugs in today also.

 

need some help asap cause i need to take my car to get it tune.

 

You said, "I got car to turn over today for 5 minutes then dies", do you mean you had the engine running for 5 min., or just cranking to start, [turning over]?

I asked...

yes the engine actually started for about 5 minutes until i tried to rev it up to about 3k rpm. now i can't turn the car on anymore and evertime i try to turn the car on all of the lights fades away everytime i try to start the engine.

i took the old spark plugs out and it head some oil on it so i changed it with some new ones. i don't remember smelling gas on the spark plugs.

 

You have a power or ground connection problem...
