car won't start, help please...
i have a 99 honda accord LX 4cyl. and it won't start unless i give it a jump. i bought the battery last year and the starter was changed last month. i tested the the battery with key off engine off and its at 12.6 v and after a jump with key on engine on the battery is at 14.7v. i thought it was my alternator but according to some of my researching online, if the battery is around 14ish volts with koeo, the alternator is still good, but i can be wrong. my mechanic skills are really minimum so can someone please help..thanks
Your saying it will not crank, [starter motor not working] unless you give it a boost, [jump] is that correct?
If so, redo your main grounds, batt. post and cable clamp, batt. to chassis, batt. to engine/chassis to engine, DO NOT just eyeball them, disconnect/clean/reconnect.
Also, try a bypass jump without a boost...

i got the starter tested and its still good. one thing i forgot to mention is when i give it a jump and when it starts up it drives fine but as soon as i turn off the engine, i lose power to everything (headlights, dome lights, stereo, and etc.)
Sounds like a poor ground at the battery. Disconnect the negative battery terminal, inspect and clean it and the post(in fact do that to both neg and positive,it cant hurt.)
you're right on..the battery wires were full of gunks and after clean it it start right back up..thanks everybody for all the help
