You may have a bad main relay. I had this happen to my in my 93 si hb. The engine would turn but it wouldn't start. Sometimes after messing with it for a while i could get it to start. It really only did it when the car had been sitting in the sun for a while. I replaced it and it fixed the problem. Later..

"You may have a bad main relay." Good point! How do you know the problem is with the ignition? Have you checked for spark at the plug wires? If you get a fat blue spark from the end of the plug wires, you're ignition is working fine -- check fuel next.

The main relay controls the fuel pump. It's also a "common failure" item.

Don't just slap new parts on it unless (1) you KNOW the "old" one is bad or (2) you don't mind throwing money away.

I had the ignitor problem, it WAS the ignitor, but the ignitor wasent bad, the blue (tach) wire, just kept comming loose, so I soldered the wires down, and its fine now. All this after I bought a new ignitor, did you connect all the wires correctly in the ignitor?

Check the dist cap. Make sure you didn't bust the carbon pickup that goes into the coil.

Make sure the wires on the igniter are installed correctly...did the car ever start after you replaced the igniter? If not, try switching the blue and green wires. The main relay should only act up while it is hot inside the car.
