Car Scraping Problem
Hello:
I got a new Tokico Illumina Advanced Handling Suspension kit put on recently and at first I used to hear a scraping sound on my left side when I took a corner going about 40 or so (getting on the interstate). I went back to the installer and they said "it just happens" no explanation about what is scraping, why it scrapes, just that it happens. He said that the springs dont have much room to come up so they scrape, well, isnt that like bottoming out?
My car is lowered 1.5 inches and so I know that the mudflaps are low. Does anybody else have this problem? Is it out mudflaps? Should I take them off or shave them down? I am going to do a test tomorrow where I am going to put chalk on the bottom of the car and take it for a spin in a parking lot and I know that within 2 minutes of not even trying hard, I am going to hear that scraping. Its total BS!!! How is that normal? I want to take this car out on the track and I dont want to be driving the whole time thinking of the next turn that I am going to take and how its going to scrape something or how I am going to make a "NORMAL" scraping sound. There is no such thing as a NORMAL scraping sound. I am sorry, but this really is getting on my nerves. Especially now when if I am driving normal on the street and take a corner at 25 it scrapes. It sounds like total sh*t. I was happier before I got my car lowered.
Please, somebody else tell me this is not right. And what I should do about this, because this is absolutely ridiculous.
BTW, I am running the car completely stock right now (suspension is at 1 in both front and back) but I did make it tighter last week and it did the same thing. The scraping happened regardless.
Thanks.
