Default Car overheated and now it wont...

Ok so I have been doing some research and cant quite figure out whats going on so I thought I'd join this forum to get some help asap.

I have a 95 Civic with a B18C1. The other day I was driving and noticed my heater wasnt working, then car overheated temp gauge went to Hot. Immediately drove home. Put water in radiator (was empty) and found a leak in the BWR Aluminum radiator.. So heres what I did..

Pulled out radiator, hoses, and fan...

Bought new radiator and installed the exact way I took out just in reverse steps
also (wrapped mugen header with exhaust wrap) filled radiator with new coolant and then started vehicle.

Drove it at least 5 miles.. Heater still wont get hot, Temp gauge never moved above C (cold) and no coolant flowed through the hoses because I squeezed them and there was none in there.. Its like my engine never warmed up at all.. Valve cover didnt even feel hot and I had the car running for a while... Even drove it on the Freeway

Whats going on!?!? Thanks....?? VTEC wouldnt engage either so that tells me the coolant temp never got warm.. WTF

I definitely drove it more then enough to get warm, it just wouldnt.. Makes no sense

It's possible you had two issues, leak in the radiator and bad thermostat. Driving 5 minutes normally will barely have your car getting hot. The car will have to heat up before you will get heat coming from the heater.

When you replaced the radiator was there any coolant inside ?

Thx guys... b4 reading checking back here I figured out the problem. Turned out the Thermostat was stuck open causing the engine to stay cool and never warmed up. When it overheated it must have ruined the thermostat. Put a new thermostat in it and car runs fine now, heats up, and stays cool.
