i have a 93 honda civic dx and for some reason now it wants to mainley when i first start the car it will rev hi for a little and then it will idle up and down. smoe times it goes away but it still will not goe down to like 1k idle. and some time it will go away if i turn on the ac or heater along with the rear defroster or lights. and know it seems like its getting worse like it will not stop going up and down if i turn other stuff on.

 

is it cold where u are? cuz i kno for some cars i dunno for urs but, if its cold the engine will change its rpm to heat somethign or other...?

 

ya kind of but it just started like late last week and the weather has been colder than this before.

clean you iacv, check your fiav, and search for those two terms if you need more direction. It's a common problem

i cleaned out the iacv and it wsa nasty in there but it is still doing the same thing. some time it will go away if i like turn on my ac but not all the time. and most of the time after i drove it a little the idle problem went away .

 

I have a problem with my 93 civic .. Im not a Honda expert I just got this car last week .. but the problem is that when u first start the car the engine revs up and down and it didn't know that I was told it could be the tps sensorand u would be able to find out if I unplugged it when it did that .. so it did stop and I bought a new one and it still had that problem please help!
