Car doesn't start, No electrical power after doing power steering conversion!?
After finishing up two task..like changing my oil, and looping my power steering racket, put a breather on...I tried to turn on my car and the power is out. I check the battery terminal and everything is connected. Ground is good. I never had any prior batter problems.
I'm not getting any electrical power in my dash, interior, lights, everything! What can be wrong? I tried to back track what I did, and i didn't disconnect anything. What I didn't do is disconnecting the negative and positive cables from the battery whilte taking out the power steering pump and lines. So taking them out with the terminals still attached could cause damage to the battery?
It's like getting a black out on my car, nothing electrical works! If anybody know what clue is wrong. Please post your feedback. I never had any battery problems in the last two years, and I check most fuses and they're ok. Is there a "main" fuse I should check?

I have the same problem with my Honda Accord 91. Suddenly after filling up my gas tank, the car was totally lost all the electrical power. No even a bit of light turned on anywhere. Completely back out. I asked someone to give me a boot and it started up again. Now things seem to be OK. It is strange and it happened for the first time. However, before it used to fail to start up the engine even with power. I could not figure out what the problem is until now. I will take it to auto shop tomorrow and have them check it out.
It's time to get rid off my car. It costs too much to fix it.
Once I found out what the problem was, I will let you know.
David.

if you're getting NO POWER WHATSOEVER, then i can think of two reasons:
1.) somehow, your battery drained on you; perhaps it was an overnight project and you left something on when you went to sleep...get someone to jump-start you, and if your car starts, then your battery just died on you; be more careful when you do maintenance next time
2.) your negative battery terminal ground cable has an open somewhere inside the insulation and you can't see that it's broken; disconnect the negative battery terminal and shoot continuity(resistance) from the battery side of the ground cable to wherever it connects to on the chassis. if you're not getting continuity, then your ground wire is broken or it isn't connected on the chassis side.
that's all i can think of if nothing electrical works in your car. i hope this helps.
