Default Car Doesnt Run w/ ctr pistons

i have a stock ls motor, i just added ctr pistons and arp rod bolts. now it doesnt run. it will start and run like **** for a little while, and if i give it gas, it dies. i got a cyk code out of it once, but other than that no codes. when it is running if you unplug the map sensor it doesnt stall, i know that it would normaly. i borrowed some spare parts from a friend, figured i would try replacing the electronics and see if that helped, it didnt. i tried a new ecu, coil/ignighter, map sensor. i have spark and fuel and the timing is all lined up, compression test is 210 accross the board. i have been told that i might need to adjust the timing to compensate for the ctr's. is this correct? if so can i do if by adjusting the teeth or will i need adjustable cam gears? any help would be greatly appriciated. i now have to borrow a car to get around. thanx

well, that was my first thaught but i have checked and rechecked it, and its dead on. but do i need to adjust it differently because of the new pistons? someone told me that i may have to. can someone confirm this? or should the stock timing be ok for this setup? if the stock timing is ok what else should i check?
