Default Can't get this plug out

I need to install a new harness, so I'm taking my current one out. I cannot get this plug out to save my life. I don't want to brake it. I'm not sure what it is but it plugs right on the top of transmission. Am I just a little girl or what?

Back up light switch. They get hot and the rubber gets hardened and are almost impossible to get off without breaking. Just grab on to it with some pliers wiggle and pull. Worst case scenario is you have to reconnect it with some bullet connectors.

Ok. So I'll grab it with pliers at the base where the green wire is.

No below that. The larger diameter part part of the plug.

Try and slide that boot up and it should pop off. The boot just kind of shrinks over the sensor.

Ok I'll try that when I get home. The car is a 90 civic with a d16y7. Not sure what harness I have in there though. If I can't get it off I'll probably just cut the wires and solder/ heatshrink to new harness.

Actually your right. Maybe it doesnt unplug there. I was thinking in perspective of the oil pressure sensor. Same style.

I wonder what would happen if I unscrewed it below where your arrows are. I could get a wrench in there.

It would take the whole switch out. No biggie. I just cant remember now if it unplugs from the switch or not. If there is bullets connecting it up about 6-8 inches up just undo it there.

Or just unscrew the whole sensor.

A few inches up it just goes into the plastic of the harness. I'll get it up just didn't know if there was anything special about it. Thanks.

Spray some on pb blaster catalyst or wd40 and then grab it with pliers. Just yanked that one off the other day on my y7 and that was a knuckle buster

The back-up lights switch assembly DOES NOT unplug at the switch, it unplugs a few inches up the line, #8 it does unscrew from the transmission housing...

Grabbing the top of the switch with anything and twisting/turning/pulling will damage the switch.94
