can someone help me ID this?
It looks like a dowel pin. If that is a valve cover nut next to it, it's probably one of the small dowels on the cam caps or the bridges above. Take the caps off and find out which one is missing.

it would be the one under #3 cam cap.
or bepending on size it could be the one that lines the head up?

WOW thanks for all the replies...yes it is hollow but it is not that big it is fairly small not as big as the dowl pin to align the head. i am a noob at all this and appreciate all this help!!
