If the ECU you are using doesn't have a function stock, it cannot be made to work with that function later.

So no.

In the sept issue of Sport Compact Car, in their article "Hybrid How-To", They

are putting a prelude engine in a civic. On page 192: "The Civic didn't come with

VTEC, but its ECU is pre-configured to accept inputs from an engine with this

feature."

Maybe all Honda ECU's are like this??

Yes you can convert the LS ECU to run a vtec engine.

SCC is full of useless ****. They meant wiring harness, and even then only SOME
civics were prewired for vtec.

Try http://www.jdmhondaparts.com and look under the ECU upgrades section. Also, try http://www.hondata.com

We have converted an LS P74/P75 ecu, when running with a Hondata stage 2 upgrade and GSR maps to drive a GSR with secondary intake runners. We have not yet made this upgrade available for sale.

Because the P74/P75 does not have a knock sensor, a Hondata upgrade must be used so as not to cause a knock sensor error.

If you do not use the secondary intake runnner switching, a Hondata system and modified P28 will work OK.
