can this block be resleeved ?
I have heard that the factory sleeve must be partially intact in order for it to be sleeved, and I just wanted to know wether or not this was true. The block in question is a b18c5, and the sleeve is almost entirely gone.
Thanks,
Louis

Yes, you must have part of the original sleeve, or have the metal welded up from scratch. It's usually far too expensive to have it welded back, so a better bet is to just buy a different block.
if its just he top part, then the block might still be ok. if most of the stock cylinder walls are already cracked all the way down or broken off at least halfway, then the Block is Generally cant be sleeved.

Is this the case wether getting sleeves that are open or closed deck? Or with a closed deck is it a different case? I would have to say that most of the sleeve all the way down is pretty much gone.
Thanks for your help, it's hard to think that a block purchased new from Acura with low mileage, is now deemed worthless. Kinda sucks. . .
