could be a kazz or cusco LSD if it came out of a JDM B16 trans.

did it come out of a Y1 B16 tranny?

Ok, just a word of advice.
If you try and sell this LSD it will ONLY work with a Y1 (4.266) final drive ring gear. It is not compatible with a S1/J1/or YS1 4.40 final drive/ring gear because the bolt pattern on the LSD itself is different and is designed specifically to mate up to a Y1 ring gear.

interesting.. yeah. the ring on it now is a bit worn down.. i didn't have another, so i put a GSR open diff in instead. THAT would explain why that diff was in my tranny, though. the only way the guy had to get a the quaife was to put it in the Y1. hmmm.
i'll put it for sale anyway. surely SOMEONE will need it. i need to pay back the $$ i borrowed to rebuild my tranny don't a lot of guys still use cable trannies on race cars? maybe?

so, what WOULD this thing go for, used? they can even have the ring gear if they NEED it

si tranny is same as b16, if i'm not mistaken. it will work as is. BUT, the ring gear has a tiny chip in the corner of one tooth. you would be better off using your own.

i'll post it for sale in the classifieds.

***edit: "Civic/CRX 1990-91 Si, plus non Si/EX 1988-99 (35mm bearings) Confirm bearing size on car before ordering !" <-- from a website i found. it may be different. you may wanna check. but my tranny and yours seem to be the same.

well if its out of a Y1 all you have to do is use the stock ring gear that comes with the tranny your installing it in, its not hard to swap. BTW SI's do have 4.4's for sure...

speaking in terms of cable trannys, you can't use 1st gen B16 cable tranny parts in any hydro tranny, only 92-03 2nd gen B16 cable tranny parts will work in your 99 Si tranny.

if its Y1 it will fit , just use the final drive gear on your stock diff. If it came from a S1 or J1 it will fit w/o any mods whatsoever. hth

or I dunno maybe Kat's right, I neveracually seen the diff from a Y1 only know its 4.26 on the ring gear. I thought almost all B-series diffs are the same?

I am right
trust me, you can't mix 1st gen b16 cable tranny parts with 2nd cable b16 tranny (YS1) parts.

well Kat, I only debate yor wisdom because I used that stock '00 SI diff and ring gear in my bro's S1 jdm B16 tranny w/o any modification whatsoever. I talked to the local Honda B-series Tranny Guru and he said all B16 diffs are he same, as well as LS diff's....

*gets ready to put foot in mouf*

ok ok touche...you got me...

I can imagine how an S1 ring gear + diff would/could/should possibly work in a S4C tranny, as they both are 4.40 final drive equipped.

So if thats the case, the Y1 diff & ring gear should work in a LS tranny, as LS's have a 4.26 FD.
