I think my camshaft endplay is off. Is it possible to adjust the endplay with the timing belt on?

My distributor is making a funny noise can having an incorrect endplay cause this? In general, what does endplay effect?

I doubt you have any significant cam endplay.

Funny noise from distributor usually means the bearings are shot in the dist.

 

How much end play does it have? What is the spec for it?
