I was wondering if you can put cams on a non vtec engine? and if it would actually do anything

I have a set of Crower turbo cams in my n/a ls swapped EF. The idle is a bitch on stock ecu map, but that bastard pulls hard after 1500rpm. As far as D series I couldnt help, sorry
