Default cam overlapped ???

my set up LSvtec toda c,12.5:1CR.. i degreed the cams to factory spec..while tuning the car misses at around 7000rpm. a freind of mine had the same prob and told me that his tuner adjusted the cams due too much overlapped.is this my possible prob even though i set them to factory spec?
and if try to adjust them, how should i go about it initially..i mean advance?retard? i read that NA will only work with adjusting the intake cam??

The cams do come from the factory with slight overlap for a scavaging effect. Your mods might be affecting this too much, but not sure on this. You could try retarding the intake a bit and see what happens, but a little bit of scavage is good to pull the intake charge into the cylinder.
