cam gear / valve adjustment question - decked block
I'm rebuilding my GSR engine. My block is decked (.015) and i know the procedure for getting the cams in sinc with the crank (stake the cams at TDC - loosen adjustable cam gears, rotate crank to TDC etc etc)
My question is, should i do what i said above (get the crank & cams inline at TDC - approximately 1 degree advanced) and then do a valve adjustment? would everything be correct that way?
I read somewhere (another HT thread) to adjust the valves at 0,0 on the head and THEN adjust everything to get the crank & cams timed correctly
any info appreciated. thanks...

When you're adjusting valve clearance it makes very little difference when you're 1 or 2 or 4 degrees away from the 'correct' position. I bet if you measure it, spin 5 degrees, measure again, I bet you won't see enough difference to matter.
