how do you stop the cam gears from moving so you can tighting them.

if you have stock cams there is a hole in them that will match up with the holes on the number 1(?) cam caps (intake/exhaust). simply stick a 5mm punch or drill bit thru and you will have it at TDC

Craftsman sells a rubber strap wrench that is also very useful for this. It will fit around the outside of the sprocket, and doesn't cause damage to the teeth since it's made out of rubber.
