Default cam gear help

installing skunk2 cam gears on my gsr but they will not slide all the way on the camshaft would it be ok to tap them on with a hammer or am i doing something wrong

yes i have the key the stock cam gears are pretty easy to get on and off but the skunk 2 cam gears only go about half way on

Well you could try heating it up to see if it will fit. Most new gears are a tight sqeeze because they come measured for new not used camshafts. I looked at my instructions and it says for thicker gears you need a longer gear bolt or it will only fit the snout of the camshaft.

tried heating them up still didnt work they go on fine with out the key but not with it so i said **** it and used rubber mallet to tap it on hope i didnt mess it up
