the mating surface of the cam caps with the head(the bottom) has been bent/scored slightly because of prying with screw driver on the surface, but it is not bent inside of the cam journal hole just from the outside tips near the bolts. will this be an issue for the cam caps or not?

That's kind of a terrible picture but it looks like the damage is superficial so you should be fine as long as they are the original cam caps for the head.
