just got me a gsr engine, and found the cam caps to be in pretty bad shape. I've read around n found some info about align boring the caps n couldn't find the answer to my question.

Wouldn't align boring lower where the cams sit? And wouldn't that change timing?

 

it really will depend on how much material has to be removed

 

its scared up pretty good. U can actually see groove depth.

I'm going to say its not do-able. If you bore the cam bearings whats going to make up the difference, your clearance is going to be alot bigger.

 

It will not change the timing. It is bored directly down the center. You just use a larger bearing to eat up the difference but your cams still sit centered. If it is too scored then machining it wont help......

 

Where can I get Honda cam bearings or are you talking out of your ***?
