Cam break in period..
I read somewhere to hold them at like 2500rpm at initial startup for 20min. Thats what I did and I have no problems, but mine arent Toda either (not sure if that matters).

play it safe, and let them idle for 5-10 mintues. then take it for a test spin up to 4krpm. and gradually build up. making sure everything is okay still
after no weird noises start, then you can rev to 9k if desired
Assuming you've lubed the cam wih assembly/break in lube, WHen the engine fires, immediately bring the RPM up to 1500, and if possible, set the idle to that RPM. Don't allow the engine to run at less than 1500 RPM during the first half hour of operation. Slow engine speeds encourage premature cam wear and may cause ultimate failure. CHange the RPM frequently to direct oil splash to different areas of the cam. If you drive the car, after an hour of running or 100 miles, check the valve lash to see if its in spec still. Crower and some others cam manufacturers recommend using mineral based motor oil during break in, not synthetic.
thanks, thats what i was looking for. we will finally start it up tomorrow(we have to double check things) and hope everything goes ok. this is my first time messing with the head of a motor.
