calling all automotive engineer's
College can definately be the best years of your life. Don't waste them. I graduated 6 months ago but didn't find a job yet on purpose, just so I could extend the college lifestyle a little bit longer
.....
Make sure you save some easy classes for your final semester and take full advantage of it.

LMAO, I have a feeling I'll be going that route..............I'm in my 4th year of 5 of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, which is considered in the top 10 engineering schools in the country, including private schools. My technical electives will be in Acoustics, Formula Car, and Internal Combustion. I'll have been on the UT FSAE Formula Car team for 3 years. I've been in the band forever, and if engineering doesn't work out, I hope to be a college band director someday (laugh, I don't care........next time you're watching the Longhorns enroute to a nice BCS bowl game some Saturday, that idiot band dork you'll see on TV was probably me.). It's just like you said, do what you want to do, and the money, etc won't matter. I'd give you more details and tips, but I'm really tired right now and pissed that I stripped my head changing the damn spark plugs. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone doing on a car, and yet I seemed to have done it, too. Boo on me.
Anyhow, enough pointless rambling. Please PM me sometime, as I'd love to chat some more about how to really get plugged in with SAE and other automotive groups while still getting a general ME education.
I am graduating this this spring with a B.S. in mechanical Engineering, I go to the university of cincinnati, I recommend co-oping or at least doing a summer internship at the least. At UC it takes 5 years of year round work to graduate but 6-8 quarters of that time is co-op. Let me tell you it really helps. Because of co-op I already have a job when i graduate and they are paying for my school.
