Default Caliper upgrade question?

Hi, I'm running 'teg front brakes and stock rear discs, I was wondering if there was a way to upgrade to brembo [or similar] calipers [w/o upping the rotor size much], or what would be a decent brake upgrade that would clear 16" wheels [or 15's on ocasion]

The best solution I can think of would be to go with the 96 spec ITR hubs and brakes. jdmtheory.com sells the complete swap with wheels for like $700 or without wheels for like $400. The stock 96 spec wheels are 15 inch so they would definately fit.

I was checking the part #'s a while ago at my job and the knuckles share the same #. The only diff #'s btwn the integra[R and non-R] knuckle were the hubs [calipers and rotors also], but theoretically it should work. I was thinking of a way to use some itr calipers with some 4x100 itr-sized rotors but I couldn't think of any off the top of my head.

PS. The front 5-lug conversion should work by using itr 5-lug hub, rotor and caliper [I think early accord wagon was the same], and a new wheel bearing. The rear trailing arm #'s are different, as well as the rear hub/bearing, rotor and caliper - but if the rear caliper would bolt in, then the hub/bearing & rotor probably can be used also on a civic/teg[non-R] rear trailing arm.

for the 96 spec brakes, what size are the rotors vs. 5-lug R and gsR [10.4"]
also what replacement rotors, pads, calipers, etc... would I use? prelude, accord or similar? That was the only thing about the 96-spec brakes that was buggin me was what replacement parts would I use.

But I was trying to see if there was a way to use a brembo caliper[or similar, like spoon-nissin caliper] on the oem knuckle w/ a combination of a larger rotor.

I thought I remembered an older post that stated the 96 ITR used the same brakes as the GSR, except for being a 4X4 1/2" bolt circle (4x114.3mm). I know http://www.fastbrakes.com has a kit to use the ITR brakes on other Hondas. I have not used one myself so cannot comment on how they work.

I have a 93 si with the wilwood kit up front with 4piston calipers/12.2" 2pc rotors and stock size/caliper (but crossdrilled) brembos in back. It STOPS, and it was reasonably priced (about $700). It barely fit my 16" wheels- it won't fit all 16's. But I feel much more comfortable when it comes time to stop then I used to. Pedal feel/modulation is worlds better than stock and fade...well lets just say that I have yet to see any.

get ITR or 92-96 prelude VTEC or 90-93 accord WAGON calipers with fastbrakes 11 in rotors in 4x100. all the calipers listed are identical and with good pads, integra MC and brake booster and SS lines it should be more than enough stopping power for a light civic.

you can use an itr caliper on a gsr knuckle with a little bit of modification to the caliper mounting pad but you have to find a disk that is the same diameter as the
itr i think that there is a model of prelude that uses a 4 lug with the same diameter
disk
i know it can be done because my racing buddy has done it on his hatch
i will try to find out exactly what he did to do this conversion
